LinQuest is seeking a Space Policy Analyst Intern for our customer site in Arlington, VA. As a LinQuest Intern, you will work with the company and support the Principal Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force for space (SAF/SP). SAF/SP is directly involved in making decisions affecting national security, including assessing threats to US and allied space capabilities, analyzing current and forecast space and space-related capabilities and developing policy, plans, and programs to meet essential military needs. You will be assisting space professionals at LinQuest and at the Pentagon with three primary focus areas: space policy, contract program control and accounting, business development and human resources. You will support the Linquest Corporate office in Chantilly, VA and SAF/SP in the Pentagon.

This will be a 6-week winter internship. The internship could lead to part-time or full-time employment with Linquest.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide background information to support USAF senior leader speeches and presentations
  • Work collaboratively to establish achievable and relevant goals, and develop project schedules with prioritized lists of deliverables.
  • Coordinate meetings with customers to discuss progress on projects and make any changes necessary.
  • Present your results through spoken briefings and formal white papers.
  • Attend networking events to broaden your knowledge about the industry and meet other space professionals.
  • Travel to the Pentagon, as needed, to hold customer meetings and attend various events.
  • Track and reporting hours and dollars expended during the previous reporting period by CLIN and labor category
  • Track and reporting hours and dollars expended during the current reporting period by CLIN and labor category
  • Track and reporting hours and dollars expected to be expended during a reporting period by CLIN and labor category
  • Track and reporting cumulative hours and dollars expended by CLIN and labor category
  • Assist with recruiting, retention and on-boarding of new employees
  • Assist with Business development efforts
  • Assist with contract management program control and accounting
  • Provide a final project report, at the conclusion of the internship, of all work completed and results.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially with spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent time management

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical writing
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Software design
  • Self-Disciplined, Teamwork

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree candidate student
  • Education in Business/Marketing
  • Education/experience in Human Resources

Preferred Experience:

  • Business and/or any scientific discipline/major
  • Space systems knowledge
  • National security and/or space policy development/analysis
