Description:

The Estimating Engineer is responsible for preparing cost estimates, quotations, product designs, and manufacturing routes for customers by analyzing proposal requirements. This position will work closely with multiple teams such as sales, customer service, graphics, production, and quality to provide accurate customer quotes.

A successful candidate for the Estimating Engineer position will be customer focused, independent, detailed oriented, and interested in understanding how metal & roll label fabrication is impacted by product quote and design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret customer specifications.
  • Computes costs by analyzing materials, processes, labor, and time requirements.
  • Work accurately, quickly, and independently to generate accurate quotes.
  • Create product item numbers, bills of materials (BOMs), and production routes.
  • Understand and apply industrial, military, and raw material specifications to product design.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Related work experience in sheet metal fabrication, roll label printing/fabrication, or similar industry.
  • General knowledge of sheet metal and roll label fabrication strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills to learn and run multiple software applications, such as estimating systems, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
