Stark State College seeks a strategic and innovative leader to serve as the Vice President of Enrollment Management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future of our institution by providing visionary leadership in the areas of enrollment strategy, student recruitment, retention, and admissions processes; financial aid; registration; career services and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership: Hands-on, student-centered leader who serves on President’s Executive Council to represent Enrollment Management areas of the College. Participate in strategic plan development, execution and success; collaborate with President, Provost and other VPs in making decisions to support students from first inquiry through graduation and career. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Cultivate and support culture where all team members work together within the Enrollment Management area and across the College for the benefit of students. Provide leadership, support, training and clear expectations to ensure that employees are successful in their important roles. Represent College internally and externally with professionalism and commitment.

Strategic Enrollment Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive enrollment management strategies aligned with the college's mission, vision, and goals. Lead efforts to increase student enrollment, diversity, and retention rates.

Akron location:  Provide daily leadership and direction for all operational staff at the Akron location serving as the main point of contact for issues/concerns (i.e., testing tutoring, facilities, security, etc.).

Recruitment and Outreach: Oversee recruitment efforts to attract a diverse pool of prospective students. Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to develop effective recruitment materials and outreach campaigns. Work with employers and community organizations to develop innovative outreach and educational access to nontraditional and underserved students.

Admissions Process: Ensure efficient and student-centered admissions processes. Implement best practices to streamline application review, admissions and enrollment procedures.

Financial Aid and Scholarships: Work closely with financial aid office to develop and implement strategies to support students in accessing financial assistance and scholarships. Advocate for financial aid policies that promote access, affordability and student success.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to track enrollment trends, identify areas for improvement, and evaluate the effectiveness of enrollment management initiatives. Prepare regular reports and presentations for college leadership and stakeholders.

Collaboration and Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including academic departments, student services, and administrative units. Cultivate partnerships with external organizations, schools, and community groups to enhance recruitment efforts and enrollment pipelines.

Student Success Initiatives: Collaborate with academic and student affairs departments to develop programs and initiatives that support student success, persistence, graduation and connections to employers and careers. Advocate for resources and support services that address the diverse needs of our student population.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations related to enrollment management, admissions, and financial aid.

To be Considered You'll Need:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, business or a related field. Doctorate preferred. 
  • Ten years of progressively responsible leadership and success in enrollment management or admissions, preferably at a community college. Proven record of leadership in achieving enrollment and student success goals (comprehensive enrollment management). 
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing enrollment strategies that support student recruitment, retention, and diversity initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations related to enrollment management, admissions, and financial aid.

Retirement Benefits

Ohio Public Employees Retirement System
The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS), was established to provide a secure retirement for Ohio's public employees and their families. OPERS is available to all staff Members.  The College contributes 14% of the employees' wages for the retirement benefit and the employee contributes 10%. 

State Teachers Retirement System
The State Teachers Retirement System (STRS), was established to provide a secure retirement for Ohio's public educators. STRS is available to all faculty members.  The College contributes 14% of the employees' wages for the retirement benefit and the employee contributes 14% of their wages toward the retirement benefit.   

Alternative Retirement Plan
Faculty and staff may elect the Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) in lieu of one of the state plans.

Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Accounts
Stark State College offers supplemental, voluntary savings options to help faculty and staff plan for retirement. Most employees are eligible to participate in the 403(b) and 457(b). These plans allow you to enhance your retirement savings through voluntary pre-tax (state and federal only) contributions to a Tax-Deferred Account (403(b) plan) and Deferred Compensation Program (457(b) plan).
