Job Description
Hill International is seeking a Construction Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio
  • Works under the immediate supervision of an ODOT Area Engineer on LPA Person in Responsible Charge (as defined in the LPA participation requirements chapter of the Locally Administrated Transportation Project (LATP) Manual of Procedures), manages a construction project or a portion of a construction project ensuring construction work performed will achieve plan and specification intent.
  • Coordinates inspection of the project sites, overseas testing of materials and documents work to ensure work performed by contractors is in compliance with all state and federal specifications.
  • Correlates and analyzes field data, reviews plans and records, initiates change orders, prepares time extensions, submits estimates and all other forms necessary to complete a construction project, assist with dispute resolution, estimates, conducting progress meetings, preparing meeting minutes and other related duties finalize or assists with finalizing and closing out the project.
  • Interprets contract provisions, plan requirements and reviews project records.
  • Calculates final pay quantities.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Perform data entry into ODOT's CMS/ SITE MANAGER system or local documentation equivalent as directed by the Project Engineer or LPA person in responsible charge (as defined in the LPA participation requirements Chapter of the Locally Administered Transportation Projects (LATP) Manual of Procedures).

  • Sixty (60) months of construction project technical/ management experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a school with ABET accredited program.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.
  • Full Covid-19 vaccination is recommended. Mandatory vaccinations and proof of vaccination are subject to client requirements, federal, state or local law.
