DLZ Corporation currently has exciting Entry Level Civil Engineer opportunities in Columbus and/or Cleveland, Ohio.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform civil engineering, construction, and design assignments, requiring a solid grasp of civil engineering and the exercise of professional judgment.
• Typically given projects of minor to moderate complexity and may have leadership responsibility for less experienced engineers or technicians.
• Assist project manager in more complex assignments, perform work under close supervision, and provide support to more experienced personnel.
• Prepare sketches and diagrams for use by technicians. Review and check detailed drawings and layouts.
• Perform and direct others in the designs, systems and equipment items of moderate complexity.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, economic, and technical feasibility studies and studies aimed at evaluating alternative systems, equipment, materials or engineering methods.
• Assist in the preparation of contract / proposals specifications and construction cost estimates.
• Review Contractor's shop drawing submittal.
• Perform construction monitoring and coordinate field activities.
• Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• 0 - 3 years relevant experience
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT), pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with AutoCad and Civil 3D preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written skills
• Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.
