The Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering at the University of New Mexico (UNM) is seeking applicants for two open rank tenure-track faculty positions. We seek innovative and collaborative researchers whose teaching and research interests span broad areas of chemical engineering. Applications are encouraged from researchers working in , but not limited to, energy and sustainability, bioengineering, nanomedicine, materials science as well as process engineering. The successful candidate should have the ability to develop a high-impact independent research program that cuts across disciplines, departments, and research centers, and the dedication to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The University of New Mexico is the only Carnegie-classified R1 (very high research activity) university in the state and is a federally-designated Hispanic Serving Institution. Qualified candidates will have earned a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering or a related discipline by the time of appointment. Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated ability to develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program; a commitment to undergraduate/graduate education and student mentoring; and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
