Position Description:

We are looking for a Professional Engineer to join our Transportation team to improve infrastructure in Ohio. We have offices located in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, PE registration in the state of Ohio (or ability to obtain), and at least five years of roadway, traffic, and/or transportation related design experience. Candidates should be familiar with the ODOT plan preparation and review process, including cost estimates, schedules and budgets, and managing design using ORD Design Software. Basic knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation standards and procedures is required. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available.

Typical responsibilities include:
Project Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee transportation related projects and technical tasks
  • Design of various transportation projects including roadways, bridge approaches, traffic control plans, maintenance of traffic plans, etc.
  • Site reviews and field visits as needed to advance designs appropriately
  • Proactively manage project technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications, etc.
  • Work closely with client, other disciplines, and stakeholders in the successful delivery of projects
  • Write reports using local and state standards
  • Attend and/or conduct client and project meetings
  • Maintain a safe working environment
Business Development
  • Work collaboratively to grow Ohio Transportation market
  • Assist with preparation and review proposal scope, pricing and other content for transportation projects
  • Assist with marketing, proposals, and technical presentations
  • Maintain excellent client relations
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
Skills/Experience:
  • 5 or more years of roadway, traffic, and/or transportation related design experience required
  • Professional Engineer registration in the state of Ohio required (or ability to obtain)
  • Basic knowledge of the local, state, and federal transportation standards and procedures is required
  • Familiarity with the ODOT plan preparation and review process, including cost estimates, schedules and budgets, and managing the design using ORD Design Software is required
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus.
