We are seeking a motivated, achievement-oriented individual who can help us fulfill our commitment to deliver client success on each and every project we undertake. Detailed Description:

Brown and Caldwell seek a Senior Associate to support a design-build Owners Advisor group to implement collaborative delivery processes. Work associated with this can be within a large program or specific project execution. As an OA the specific focus will be on assisting Clients in the full development and delivery of collaborative design-build projects, inclusive of project definition, delivery partner procurement, preconstruction implementation, delivery of design and construction, start-up and commissioning and O&M for design-build, progressive design-build and construction management at-risk (CMAR). This position will support projects in a wide variety of locations throughout the U.S.

Characteristics of the successful candidate include the proven ability to manage large program and projects, multidiscipline project delivery professionals while maintaining, leveraging and expanding their exceptional relationships with local and national resources and teams. The candidate shall have extensive project delivery experience.

Job Expectations:

  • Provide consultation related to the merits of various project delivery methods and support design-build procurement best practices as an advisor to owners
  • Prepare and make presentations to clients related to best practices for design-build and CMAR implementation
  • Collaborate and work directly with clients in planning, negotiating and executing design-build projects during the preconstruction and construction phases
  • Support owners in the review of various designs and construction plans and approaches during the design and preconstruction phase of design-build and CMAR projects
  • Support owners in the review and validation of design-builder and CMAR construction estimates and support guaranteed maximum price negotiations on owners' behalf
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate with multi-discipline project teams comprised of client staff, technical resources, public entities and regulatory agencies, and subconsultants
  • Identify and assess Owner Advisor opportunities and support business development pursuits to win Owner Advisor projects
  • Support the development of procurement documents and coordinate associated technical specifications, reports, planning, and design and construction submittal reviews, calculations, models and other technical deliverables to support the owner's procurement and implementation process
  • Support development and communication of design-build and CMAR best practices via participation in professional organizations and conferences and for internal marketing and staff development
  • Position will require travel; potentially up to 60% of the time

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively increasing responsibility with experience related to design-build and CMAR delivery, including business development, procurement, estimating, materials and equipment procurement, and cost validation responsibilities
  • Background in water or wastewater industry preferred
  • Strong project management and negotiation skills required
  • Experience with EPC, CMGC, design-build and other alternative or collaborative delivery methods
  • Experience in project delivery in the Muni and private sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations and written report preparation are essential
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and the ability to multi-task are essential
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record

Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $103,000 - $141,000

Location B: $114,000 - $155,000

Location C: $124,000 - $169,000
