Barnes Motion Control Solutions SBU has an exciting and challenging career opportunity at Barnes for an Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and refine product development. In addition to testing the product and manufacturing process. This position will manage staff and assign tasks to engineering and technical staff. Will lead teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes. Will also oversee project logistics and resource allocation.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Leading a small team of experienced mechanical design and manufacturing engineers
  • Oversee continuous improvement (BES/Lean) culture.
  • Lead Engineered Solutions projects to satisfy emerging market needs and product improvements.
  • Manage product and process changes.
  • Responsible for internal and external product test planning and execution
  • Lead failure (internal and external) investigations and prepare reports.
  • Planning and executing strategies for completing projects on time
  • Resource planning and execution including identifying and scaling contractors as needed for engineering projects.
  • Supervising the work and technical accuracy of cross-functional teams
  • Participate and contribute to the Company's monthly KPI meetings.
  • Consult and advise for Quality, Purchasing, Product Management, Manufacturing and Sales
  • Adhere to established company policies and procedures, including applicable safety regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Adherence to the Barnes Code of Business Ethics and Conduct

Qualifications:

  • 7 years' minimum experience in ISO 9001 accredited product design and manufacturing
  • 4 years' minimum experience in managing professional engineers.
  • Sound knowledge in pressurized systems, system dynamics (springs and dampers), systems' Engineering, product testing and test equipment design.
  • Working knowledge of Data Acquisition and Control (DAC) systems, Product Data Management (PDM) systems, product design (SolidWorks CAD package)
  • Solid understanding of lean/agile design and manufacturing and Agile Project Management.
