Optical Lab Technician
Norton, OH
Job Description
As an OpticalLab Technician working onsite in Barberton/Norton, OH, you will be responsible for lab testing to support a 24/7/365 optical production operation. This position reports to a Lab Quality Supervisor.This position will work 3pm to 11pm on a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
Main Responsibilities:
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to perform routine laboratory procedures to test the quality of the organizations in- process products, finished products and environmental byproducts.
- Perform routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis to verify process conditions.
- Record results, perform calculations, and communicate to production.
- Follow instructions and checklists to set-up equipment and apparatus, mix chemical solutions for use in tests and troubleshooting issues that could arise.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and one or more years of chemistry/biology/lab experience OR a BA/BS in Chemistry or Biology
- Ability to perform quality testing using GC, HPLC, IC
- Strong organizational skills, troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to work weekends and holidays is required
