Performs tasks not limited to changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, installing paper dispenser units, changing filters, changing locks on doors, minor decorative maintenance and other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person or journeyman. Performs light maintenance service under the guidance of a qualified skilled tradesperson, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs and installations. Performs painting, finishing, and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures. Maintains and repairs walls, wall coverings, and other painted surfaces throughout the facility. Refinishes furniture and woodwork; paints, varnishes, stains, enamels, lacquers and redecorates walls, woodwork, and fixtures. Estimates time and material costs on painting and redecorating projects. Identifies and corrects unsafe working conditions with management oversight; knowledgeable in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work; inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building code(s). Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures: to include reporting all accidents and injuries in a timely manner (performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures). Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments and/or all training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated. Initiates/document all work in CMMS system; work orders both reactive and preventative. Performs other duties as assigned. Shift times may vary according to hospital demands and emergencies.
