OVERVIEW

Lead the responsibility for overseeing the Area sales managers and commercial activities, ensuring all opportunities for growth and profit generation are recognized and maximized. Responsibilities within the role of Commercial Director includes development and implementation of innovative commercial strategies which will accelerate growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Planning: support the design of Business Plan providing meaningful commercial insight and accurate sales forecasting and estimations for the market and distributors under his/her responsibility.
  • Responsible for the support, execution and evaluation of the local business plan in these three major instances:
    • Strategic Business Plan: 3 years view
    • Business Plan: one year view in full detail
    • Latest Estimates: one business review per quarter in full detail
    • Joint Business Planning with distributors
  • Ownership of the commercial management function thought the development of strategic sales, administration of trade marketing budgets and evaluate both sales and marketing performance.
  • Evaluate, enrich and approve the go-to-market strategies and design, recommend and supervise the execution of the sales, trade marketing, marketing, advertising and Public Relations activities.
  • Responsible to build, strengthen and maintain a professional business relationship/partnership with the key executives: owners, CEO's, General Managers, Financial, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing Heads and Product Managers.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strategic Thinking: Individual with creative energy and a track record of leading major strategic market studies and key processes that focus on core business issues, defining challenges and goals, and proposing new and alternative solutions.
  • Process Orientation: Must understand the value of process in ensuring marketing excellence. Partner with key stakeholders to define, implement and improve key marketing processes. Drive accountability by key users/stakeholders to effectively leverage marketing processes to develop and execute fact-based strategic, marketing and innovation plans.
  • Analytical Ability: Individual must possess outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills and exhibit leadership in validating, qualifying, and modeling market data and market research results. Must demonstrate an ability to be sensitive to emerging customer needs and competitors' positions.
  • Influencing Skills: Must be an excellent communicator. Must have the ability to develop effective working relationships with the various functional and business heads in this fast-paced company. Will be a team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive new concepts and ideas without having direct control. Must be confident enough to constructively challenge peers and executives on their approach and thinking.
  • Mastery of market research principles & practices, including conjoint analysis, customer panels, cost of ownership modeling, and other research techniques.

PROFILE

  • +10 years of experience in sales positions within leading multinational corporations in the FMCG
  • BA/ BS in administration area. MBA or Master on Finance is a plus.
  • Bilingual: English - Spanish
  • Experience managing distributors in LATAM
  • Experience in the beauty industry is a plus
  • Experience managing direct reports
