Senior Category Manager, WALMART

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Senior Category Manager to join the Category Management team working on the Walmart customer account. This strategic leadership role will see you leading both internal and external cross-functional teams in developing and executing category growth strategies for the Walmart buying team. Reporting to a Director of Category Management & Shopper Insights, you will get to work across multiple aspects of the category business, leading a team & interfacing directly with Walmart merchant leadership to create and execute strategies that support Walmart's strategy and drive category growth and market share.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIE
In this role you will be responsible to:

  • Leading & developing a team of managers who are responsible for strategic development, analytics, and modular execution
  • Partnering cross-functionally with both internal and external teams (i.e. JDA, RTC, Crisp, etc.) to implement Walmart's merchandising vision, automate modular processes, and deliver comprehensive development and measurement of category initiatives
  • Collaborate with Coty Global insights to identify market trends that drive category growth opportunities at Walmart
  • Key point of contact for Walmart merchant & merchant leadership with daily interactions
  • Industry, category, and retailer expertise on all aspects of the market
  • Lead & coordinate market research as needed to identify category growth opportunities that support or enhance Walmart's strategic initiatives
  • Collaborates with Sr Category Manager counterparts to develop and present Quarterly industry insights and competitive intelligence reviews to Walmart Beauty leadership and total buying team

We'd love to see candidates who have:

  • Demonstrated track record of operating with integrity.
  • Successful people leadership and track record of developing talent
  • 5+ years proficiency multiple data sources, i.e. POS Data, Panel Metrics, and Industry Insights to develop category growth initiatives
  • Proficient usage of Microsoft Office
  • 5+ years working closely with Walmart merchants to implement the modular tactics
  • Developing collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, supporting strategic development, modular development & execution
  • A Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Management
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, adaptability, cooperation, and trust
  • Ability to utilize both internal and syndicated data systems and access, interpret and draw accurate conclusions to make the case for a plan of action or decision
  • Ability to utilize the analysis of a variety of sources of data to develop solid, actionable recommendations that address specific goals/objectives and tell the business story
  • Possesses ability to positively influence others
  • Demonstrates an ability to create fact-based presentation to translate sales data to achieve objectives in line with the customer strategy
  • Serves as an active and high performing member of a team, and works on internal project teams as needed to foster a culture of growth and collaboration
  • Acts with urgency to make the most of opportunities, address customer needs, and accomplish goals and objectives on the day to day business needs for category management
  • Ability to complete projects and organize work independently to produce stated outcomes
  • Ability to complete specific project to meaningful deadlines

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years prior experience in Consumer Goods Packaging
  • Proficient usage of JDA Space Planning
  • Proficient usage of syndicated data platforms i.e. Retail Link, Nielsen, IRI, NPD
  • Proficient understanding and experience with market research principles
  • Located in Bentonville, AR area
