Barnes Motion Control Solutions has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for a Production Supervisor in our location in Brecksville, OH . The ideal candidate will partner with division leaders and will manage the daily operation of a production line and department to assure goals of production output, quality and cost efficiencies are achieved. He/she will supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operators and will direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods. Core Responsibilities:

  • Establish departmental goals and objectives.
  • Plan and supervises daily work activities of employees on assigned shift/cell/machining centers to ensure manufacture of parts, products, components, or assemblies, or to perform service functions, within established timeline, quality and cost standards.
  • Monitors production activities, organizes and assigns work, coordinates the activities of the employees or within the departments or the processing of goods ani is responsible for documentation of production orders.
  • Assists operators in problem solving, troubleshooting and exercises considerable judgement.
  • Read and analyses charts and work orders, production schedules and other reports, to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Responsible for training of (new) employees on work and safety procedures or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
  • Coach, counsel, train, and discipline direct reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring new employees, developing job descriptions, and conducting performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Share responsibility with Operations Manager and Manufacturing team for continuous improvement.
  • Assures production schedules, quantities and product quality and develops and submits output reports and metrics.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and overall organization of department work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years experience in production scheduling and/or manufacturing or related field or equivalent work experience in the field of manufacturing/distribution/industry
  • Minimum of 2-3 years work experience in a supervisory or lead position
  • Demonstrated progressive career development with increasing responsibilities, with an emphasis in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills. Need to have the ability to make recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coach and mentor employees and build effective teams.
  • Impeccable integrity; superior interpersonal and customer service skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong customer-focused, quantitative, analytical, and project management skills
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated strong use of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, personnel, customers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to organize time effectively to satisfactorily complete assigned tasks and functions. This includes planning workflow and meetings.
  • Excellent computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate business or technical discipline is preferred
