Position Summary:

LinQuest is seeking a Protection Technologies Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Alexandria, VA. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for warfighting capability development, integration, and transition of new technologies that close time-critical gaps in high-priority, multi-component warfighting missions.
  • Directly support the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Mission Capabilities (ASD(MC)) within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)).
  • Provide subject-matter expertise in warfighting technologies and capabilities for Protection, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), and Air & Missile Defense (AMD).
  • Deliver technical assessments and analysis to provide recommended innovative approaches, technologies, and capabilities to address critical joint warfighting capability gaps for Protection, Countering WMD, and AMD.
  • Provide technical analysis and advice to inform capability requirements development and validation through the JCIDS process.
  • Provide technical expertise to inform mission engineering studies, prototype development, experimentation, and global integrated wargaming.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the transition of technologies from prototypes and joint experimentation activities to Service programs of record.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and briefings to DoD leadership.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least 15 years of relevant technical work experience.
  • Master of Science degree in engineering or a related technical field; or a certificate from intermediate Professional Military Education.
  • In-depth technical knowledge and experience in the application of Protection Joint Capability Areas, Joint Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD), Counter Uncrewed Systems (C-UxS), and Counter Small Unmanned Systems (C-sUAS) technologies into new and innovative warfighting capabilities.
  • Subject matter expertise with Protection, Countering WMD, and/or AMD capabilities, concept of operations, and concepts of employment.
  • Self-starter, able to take initiative and operate independently.
  • Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop high-quality, professional briefings and written reports to succinctly capture technical concepts for senior DoD leadership and Congress.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance (or, TS with an SCI within the last 24 months, with current SCI eligibility).
  • The ability to work in a secure, confined location (i.e., SCIF)
