Job Description

Hill International is seeking a Risk Manager in Puerto Rico


The Risk Manager reports to the Deputy Program Manager and is directly responsible for developing and administering the Risk and Contingency Management Plan (RCMP) for the design and construction of the Project. Specific duties include:

  • Owning the master risk management system,
  • Conducting risk management analysis to determine the most adequate level of design for different Project elements and design activities,
  • Reviewing changes made by project managers to existing risks and mitigation strategies prior to importing into the master risk management system,
  • Providing decision support data for executive management,
  • Informing the Program Manager of the program risk reserve for program controls' use in determining unallocated contingency,
  • Providing risk management input to program controls on the necessary level of program risk reserve (allocated contingency),
  • Conducting risk management workshops with the Work Package Managers on an as-needed basis to update the risk register, and
  • Developing the risk management reports.


  • The Risk Manager must have a minimum of 10 years of experience managing construction on rail transit and/or large infrastructure projects.
  • Certification by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) or by Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) as a Project Risk Management Professional is preferable.
