AvMed, a division of Sentara Health Plans in the Florida market, is hiring an Inside Sales Representative - Employer Group in Miami, Florida. This is a hybrid position, 2 days in office and 3 days remote.

AvMed Scope of the Position: Support Sr. Sales Executives and/or Sr. Account Executives in producing and retaining profitable business within small and mid-sized segments. Interact with general agents, brokers, benefit administrators, members, and internal resources as needed to achieve profitable growth objectives.

Essential Job Functions:
* Assist AvMed Sales Consultants in all aspects of educating, selling, and processing of the Greater Health Trust Product

* Represents AvMed in a positive and professional manner to ensure continued sales and company growth by developing positive business relationships with agents/brokers and the AvMed Sales Team.

* Ability to attend external events with Brokers, Clients, or Chambers of Commerce as needed.

* Maintains a good understanding of the company's products, processes, quoting, competitiveness, and market position and how agents/brokers interact with these topics to ensure the continued growth in new business sales.

* Develops increasing knowledge of insurance industry markets, products, and legal environments to provide a value-added service to agents/brokers in tandem with the AvMed Sales Team.

* Strives to effectively sell to/assist agents/brokers and to encourage them to place their client's group business with AvMed by:

o Accurately and efficiently reviewing and preparing an agent's request for quotations, proposals and other pre-sales related needs.
o Providing information and being a main resource on carrier administrative procedures, product availability, and direction in selection of appropriate group products available to specific markets and broker distribution channels.
o Providing routine follow-up in coordination with AvMed Sales Team on quoting activity associated with assigned sales team.
o Conducting regular in-office and occasional on-site follow-up calls with brokers and prospective agents/brokers to market Company services in coordination with AvMed Sales Reps.
o Listening to agents/brokers ideas, resolving conflicts, solving problems, and providing feedback to AvMed Sales Reps & Company management.
o Providing market feedback and examples to aid with maximizing group retention.
o Should assume at least 20% interaction with Brokers in coordination with assigned AvMed Sales team.
o Monthly touch base calls to broker account managers to maintain a solid relationship.
o Actively participates in team meetings, providing input to contribute to the team's overall success in achieving customer satisfaction.
o Hold welcome/implementation calls with Brokers or new Groups as needed

Minimum Requirements:
* High School Diploma

* 5 years of related experience in Administrative, Business Acumen, Customer Relation, Health Insurance Industry, or related field.
* Possess a valid State of Florida Health Insurance License or obtain license within 90 days of hire.

* Outstanding ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external personnel, both verbally and in writing.

* Ability to position advantages of AvMed product differentiators to external community.

* Good knowledge of overall carrier plan features, benefits, and underwriting guidelines for the Florida health insurance market.

* Understanding of insurance products preferably attained through working in an insurance marketing or selling environment.

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook Exchange; proficient in Internet Explorer.

* Read and understand carrier plan features, benefits and underwriting guidelines, and Company guidelines.

* Develop and maintain good working relationships.

* Analyze and resolve problems to assist agents/brokers in presenting the best solution to prospective clients.

* Determine when issues need to be escalated to a higher level.

* Work in and contribute to a positive team environment.

* Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

* Physical requirements include sitting, frequently speaking and hearing, and occasionally standing, walking, bending, crawling, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 25lbs. ese are the minimum job expectations.

Job Summary

HS grad and 5 years related experience. Related years of experience includes Administrative, Business Acumen, Customer Relation, Health Insurance Industry or related field. Must obtain a L-HIL or L-LIFEHI within 90 days of hire.

Driver's License - Certification - Other/National, Driver License - Certification - North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV), Driver License - Certification - Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (VDMV)
